Accounts Manager (Maternity Cover)
We are seeking an experienced, proactive and highly organised Accounts Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is a senior position requiring someone who is self-motivated, able to work on their own initiative and committed to delivering high standards of accuracy and customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring that accounting processes are completed efficiently, accurately and in compliance with statutory requirements.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with customers, suppliers and colleagues across multiple departments, including Goods In, Dispatch and Purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Accounts
- Process and batch customer invoices daily
- Allocate and reconcile customer payments
- Issue invoices and statements accurately and on time
- Monitor outstanding debt and proactively pursue overdue accounts (60+ days)
- Resolve customer account queries promptly and professionally
Supplier Accounts
- Download supplier invoices daily
- Accurately process purchase invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements with Orderwise on a monthly basis
- Prepare and process weekly supplier payment runs
- Maintain and update proposed payment schedules
Banking
- Manage the day-to-day banking activities of the business
- Record customer receipts and process bank lodgments
- Manage petty cash and change requirements where applicable
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations accurately and within agreed timescales
Legal & Financial Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Process PAYE and pension reporting
- Complete FCA reporting requirements
- Submit Government statistical surveys as required
- Manage Republic of Ireland VAT reporting where applicable
- Ensure all statutory submissions are completed accurately and on time
Year-End Accounts
- Prepare all year-end financial information for the company's accountants by the end of January
- Review nominal ledger accounts regularly to ensure accurate financial posting
- Assist with year-end queries and supporting documentation
Accounting Systems
- Process purchase invoices
- Maintain accurate accounting records within the company's accounting systems
- Support the continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures
Communication & Teamwork
- Respond professionally and promptly to telephone and email enquiries
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Liaise effectively with colleagues across all departments
- Provide administrative and financial support to the wider management team as required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a senior accounts or finance role
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using accounting software
Desirable:
- Experience with Orderwise and DWTools
- Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, pension administration and statutory reporting
- Experience preparing year-end accounts for external accountants
- AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience

Robot Lawnmower Service and Support Technician
We are looking for a reliable, technically minded and customer-focused Robot Lawnmower Service and Support Technician to join our growing team. This varied role combines workshop servicing, technical support, customer care and installation scheduling. You will ensure customers receive an outstanding experience from initial purchase through ongoing service and technical support.
Working primarily from our workshop and office, you'll play a key role in diagnosing and repairing robotic lawnmowers, assisting customers with technical queries and coordinating installation schedules to ensure a smooth customer journey.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in garden machinery, outdoor power equipment, mechanical servicing, technical customer support or electronics repair who enjoys solving technical problems while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Repair
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and software faults on robotic lawnmowers
- Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Repair or replace faulty or worn components
- Update machine firmware and software
- Perform battery health checks and testing
- Inspect, test and quality-check machines following repair
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Prepare quotations for repairs where required
Customer Support
- Provide telephone, email and in-person technical support
- Troubleshoot operational issues remotely where possible
- Assist customers with product setup, app connectivity and general operation
- Explain maintenance requirements and best practices
- Process warranty claims and liaise with manufacturers when required
- Follow up with customers after servicing or repairs to ensure satisfaction
- Deliver a professional and friendly customer experience at every stage
Installation Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule installation appointments with customers
- Coordinate installation diaries and optimise engineer workloads
- Liaise with customers to confirm appointment dates and requirements
- Ensure installers have all relevant customer information prior to each installation
- Coordinate any follow-up visits where required
- Maintain accurate scheduling records within the company's CRM system
Workshop & Administration
- Prepare new machines for customer collection or dispatch
- Clean, inspect and test returned equipment
- Order and manage spare parts inventory
- Process service paperwork and maintain customer records
- Maintain CRM and workshop management systems
- Keep the workshop organised, clean and safe
- Assist with stock management and inventory control
Skills & Experience
Essential:
