The hole in the centre of the pads allows for ventilation through the pad during use, keeping temperatures controlled and stable and helping with alignment on your hook & loop backing plate. The more dense foam layer reduces vibration and reduces heat transfer into the cutting foam, extending the lifespan of the pads. They also feature a bevelled edge, providing better pad control and stability during use, and acting as a safety barrier against accidental backing plate contact.
